Appointing Advocates,
Fostering Sustainable Concord
Our primary mandate is to identify, accredit, and appoint dedicated individuals to serve as Volunteer Peace Advocates. By equipping citizens with active mediation skills, we establish a robust community network ready to defuse local disputes and foster sustainable cooperation.
Our Core Pillars of Fellowship:
- Fostering unity and love among members
- Sharing professional and mediation knowledge
- Strengthening global community relations
- Supporting Sustainable Development Goals
Our Vision
To build a world where dispute resolution training and collaborative leadership are standard components of civic life, starting within family circles and expanding globally.
Our Promise
Absolute transparency and integrity. Every project, workshop, and field deployment is recorded and mapped directly to measurable community peace outcomes.
Our Origin & Global Mandate
UN-POLAC was established as an International autonomous institution in 2001 in alignment with the UN General Assembly resolution declaring 2001-2010 as the Decade of Peace and Non-Violence.
Our mandate is to strengthen the effectiveness of the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the UNESCO Culture of Peace Programme, focusing specifically on conflict prevention, human rights education, and social cohesion.
True peacebuilding relies on a double engine: Mediation Training and Grassroots Research.
Established Autonomous Mandate
Founded as an International Autonomous Institution following the UN General Assembly resolution declaring 2001–2010 as the Decade of Peace and Non-Violence.
UNESCO Partnership Alignment
Strengthened alignment with the UNESCO Culture of Peace Programme, integrating educational peace advocacy directly into schooling frameworks.
Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Adopted a structured volunteer framework explicitly mapped to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), focusing on human dignity, equality, and peace.
Nationwide Peace Network
Operating across all geopolitical zones with thousands of certified peace advocates, regional coordinators, and active youth peace clubs.
Focal Objectives
We organize our structural and administrative resources to pursue five key objectives designed to uplift communities.
To defend human rights and restore dignity to all persons.
To contribute to peace and security by promoting collaboration among groups and individuals through culture and education.
To enhance the position of family heads through recognition as Peace Advocates for proper family upbringing.
To recognize people (both late and alive) as legends to encourage present and incoming generations for peace and sustainable development.
To stimulate positive socio-civic actions in all spheres of human existence.
How We Take Action
We approach the concept of peacebuilding with the highest level of cohesion and inclusivity. By broadening the scope of active mediation and community development, we create real avenues for grassroots impact.
Promoting Peace & Unity
Direct community interventions, mediation strategies, and advocacy frameworks designed to resolve conflict and build mutual trust.
Grassroots Development
Improving local healthcare, clean water access, educational support, and economic growth directly builds the optimal conditions for peaceful societies.
Leadership Cultivation
Our POLAC peace centers have trained over 1,300 peace fellows to become effective catalysts for harmony through careers in government, education, and international organizations.
Alternative Dispute Resolution
Our members negotiate humanitarian access and local ceasefires in conflict-prone areas to ensure critical support reaches vulnerable communities.
Strategic Mediation Panels
POLAC members serve as respected, impartial participants during peace processes, post-conflict reconstruction, and policy alignment.
Humanitarian Aid Funding
The POLAC Action Group for Peace gives members opportunities to secure resources and design community-driven peacebuilding models.
